Scavenger Hunt...The Love Story of Lizabet and Rick and the Key to Freedom

We begin with our Synopsis :

The Love Story of Lizabet and Rick

York, England 1617

Both working on a large estate in Northern England, exactly 400 years ago, Lizabet Sirene is a wash and kitchen maiden and Derrick (known as “Rick”) Moutarde is in charge of the horses and stables.
Both are madly in love with each other but already spoken for.  Their relationship, therefore, they believe is forbidden.  They make a pact that they will only express their feelings verbally; stoically vowing never to act upon them.  They are determined to be honorable, above all else.

There is such passion, however; such a magnetic and seductive quality surrounding them, that although they fight their feelings for as long as possible…one evening in the stables, the unexpected (though greatly desired) happens.

Tremendous guilt follows, leading to self-destructive behavior in the form of disproportionate self-punishment, the enabling of emotional blackmail, manipulation and ultimately for each of them…varying forms of exile and incarceration.

That feeling when someone really knows you,
"gets" you and senses your deepest feelings and emotions.
The one you can talk to, tell anything to and they understand
and even complete your thoughts and sentences.

Yet, through all of this, their emotions only grow stronger.  The more Lizabet tries to move on, the more she cannot forget.  The more Rick tries to think of something…anything else, the more he can think of nothing and no one BUT Lizabet and their one night of passion in the stables.

Though separated, each endures a similar, confusing montage of mixed emotions:  The euphoria, the feeling of freedom (like flying!), elation and perfection of their one encounter of ecstasy, unlike any either of them has ever known or even dreamed of before...juxtaposed against the torment from those seeking to advance their own vindictive agendas:  All out psychological warfare and exploitation of  already overwhelming and seemingly never ending burdens of nothing but guilt, duty and obligation.  Until finally, one day...an epiphany:  This is futile, pointless and unbearable as well as ultimately...unnecessary.

Eventually realizing it is impossible to deny their true feelings and inevitable destiny; against all odds and despite tremendous challenges, Lizabet and Rick begin to find creative ways to communicate - ultimately breaking free from their (ironically, mostly self-imposed) respective sentences of house arrest and imprisonment.

Although there were other methods utilized as well, Lizabet and Rick’s primary means of communication was a hollow tree in which each left messages and small tokens for the other.  The messages they left were always seemingly innocent enough that should they be stumbled upon by the wrong set of prying eyes (in particular, their captors); no incriminating or self-identifying evidence could be found in them.  They were careful to express what they wanted to convey, but in a way only they knew the full meaning of.  This might seem to be a tricky situation, but being so in sync with each other; sharing one soul as twin flames do – they often entered each other's dreams, read each other’s minds and felt what the other was feeling anyway, so it was not as challenging for them as one might think.

Eventually the literal “key” to freedom was obtained (too long a story for our brief synopsis!).  The importance of the key, however, was of such epic magnitude, that it could not be left to chance in the hollow tree.  A more secure, mutually agreed upon location had to be worked out.  This was not an easy task, even for Lizabet and Rick, in complete vibrational alignment with each other. How could they agree upon a specific designated hiding place for the key without stating it directly?  Somehow they managed.  How?

“One who is in alignment is more powerful than a million who are not.”  - Abraham-Hicks

The Scavenger Hunt:

For our purposes, our “hollow tree” will be a post office box.  OK, OK, I know…it’s not very romantic, but it works.

An actual, literal, tangible “key” will be awarded to the winner that will lead them to their goal.  If there is more than one correct answer, a winner will be chosen at random…You can trust me, these things are never rigged, right?   ;

The key to unlock your treasure will be left (true to our story) in a “knothole in the fence” – either literally or figuratively…and here is how that will work:

The winner will have a choice as to how to obtain their key:

·         They may choose to have it mailed to them.  Perhaps they too have recently created (or will soon) their own modern day “knothole in the fence” or “hollow tree”, aka:  a PO Box!

·         Or…They may choose to retrieve the key from an actual hidden location of their choosing.  NOTE:  This option only available if that location is within a 50 mile radius of Atlantic City, NJ!

The Riddle:

The Key to Freedom
In a secluded cave there is a makeshift jail cell with a huge iron lock on the barred door to the cell. Outside the cave is a guard - more like a thug, really…at one time, a trusted friend and relatively gentle soul, now turned self-absorbed psychopath.  Anyway, (enough about them), inside the cave are two keys dangling, one each, on opposite walls adjacent to the cell; one gold and the other silver.  One opens the cell and thereby represents freedom for your beloved.  The other is to the guard’s lunchbox in which he keeps:  his lunch, pictures of himself (hand-drawn, as the camera has not yet been invented) and a book entitled “Torturing Captives for Dummies”.
The guard has been distracted just long enough (you hope!) to give you only one shot at opening the lock. If you choose the wrong key, you will not have time to try the second one.  You must select a key, open the lock, free your soul mate and flee – all before the guard catches on.  As the guard is not the sharpest, as long as you choose the correct key, this is do-able!  However, choose wrong and you will not get a second chance…at the key or at anything else as you most likely will not make it out of the cave alive.
So you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right.  But wait…improve those odds by taking advantage of a clue!  Scribbled on the wall so that the guard will not forget which key opens the cell (I told you he is not bright), is the answer. You can choose the correct key by deciphering this code:

To Recap:
1.    Decipher the code
2.       Select the correct key (choose wisely!)
3.       Free your beloved
4.       Run!

  1. First:  solve the riddle
  2. Next, leave a message in the hollow tree (aka, send your response to the PO box!  Address below)*  I NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!
In your “message” be sure to state:
  • Which is the correct key, gold or silver? (The easy part.)
  • How did you decipher the code? (The hard part.)
  • The location to leave or send your key, should you be the victor  THIS IS IMPORTANT!  I NEED TO GET THE KEY TO YOU!

Welcome Back Author Shehanne Moore!

Welcome back fellow Etopia Press Author (how we met) AND weekly Twitter Pal, the lovely and talented Shehanne Moore!  It has been FAR TOO LONG since you were on the blog.  I checked...2013!!!

So thank you for taking time out of your VERY busy schedule and visiting with us along with some of your...umm...associates.

Time Travel and the Time Traveling Mutants.

Firstly Marie, let me thank you for inviting me to your lovely blog and risking me bringing my Time Mutants here.

Not every one does given they can be dangerous

but if one should ever approach you, just don’t sign anything. Okay? More of that later.

Sure, no problem (*what have I gotten into?*)

Now then, Time Travel. There’s three types.  (And I bet you thought there were none?) Well, maybe there’s no real proper proof but do you think that’s stopped writers from constructing whole worlds around it? Not if the amount of books and films on the subject are anything to go by.

So yes, in the science of time travel we have---

1 Time machine travel.

2 Time slip travel
3 Being a time traveler.

Time machine travel involves having a machine that can transport us back to a particular time. It’s a device that needs little explanation so it’s a popular method when it comes to whizzing characters back and forth.

Back To The Future, Doctor Who, Timecop, 12 Monkeys. You might say HG Wells was the father of that kind of time travel. When he wrote The Time Machine,

he paved the way for all the books, movies and TV programs that followed. He convinced us such a machine could be made AND it could work too. In case it doesn’t, films like Timecop, Terminator and 12 Monkeys are set in the future where we accept things will be very different given technological advances.

So next up comes, Time slip travel--a paranormal phenomenon in which a person, or group of people, travel through time often through a portal. Outlander, is of course, a major example of this.  The TV series Lost could count as  a time slip, the interesting thing being that there wasn’t a portal as such, there was an island which could be moved..as islands can be…and it led to characters being flashed everywhere.

This medium is very  popular for writers as it takes care of the tricky  business of transportation.

This brings us to the third  type of time travel, that is where the character is a time traveler. We know Doctor Who is a time lord and traveler but he does have a machine. A real time traveler has no machine and there is no portal.

Think  having some kind of disorder, perhaps genetic, like in The Time Traveler's Wife, or the film, About Time, and  because of that disorder you have no control  of  the time flashes. How awful would that be? Imagine yourself landing any place at any time, think of the clash of cultures, worlds, personalities…..

So how did a sweet, smexy girl like you find herself veering off into writing about time travel mutants?

I fell into writing time travel  by accident, and the awfulness of  being an actual  time traveler and that actual clash, was one I wanted to examine in my Time Mutants series. (Okay I didn’t really but that’s another story.)

Time Mutants, as you can see are cursed, are damned, doomed to immortality. But by making a kiss all it takes for my Time Travelers to flash between two worlds initially, I did give them control of their lives. I was kind to them, honest.

Wait a minute Shehanne...there is a true nugget of genius in what you just said.  So you are saying if you kiss someone (or someone kisses you...maybe even a bunch of times) and they disappear, it could be they are a time traveling mutant?  It all makes sense now!  Thank you so much for that.  And to think, I've been racking my brain ...oh, sorry, do go on.

No problem.   So the fact that they’ve become Mutants is down to their simple failure to find one thing.
Even if it’s sometimes

Again, so sorry to have interrupted, but I was overwhelmed.  Quite the "aha moment"...still taking all of that in.  Time traveling mutant...approach with caution.  (*Now she tells me*)

Map of Border DisputeSomewhat of a vicious circle though, isn't it?  They've become mutants because of their inability to find love...which causes them to disappear after making out...oh,sorry...I mean kissing...which in turn prevents them from finding love (because they disappear...possibly from someone who may just love them with all of their heart).  What a predicament!  There must be some way to break the cycle.  Perhaps sheer strength, courage, bravery, the will to live, the knowing we deserve true love, the over-riding natural instinct to break free!  After all, the only way we can be held captive is if we, on some level, give our consent.  I believe Lincoln freed the slaves.  Yes, here it is right here:

So sorry.  I went off on a tangent, didn't I?  But just trying to help.  Now...You were saying?

Not at all.  All assistance and advice welcome.  I was just about to say I'd love to share a blurb for The Writer and the Rake

Oh yes, please do!

1765 had bugger all to recommend it.
He saw her coming. If he’d known her effect he'd have walked away.

When it comes to doing it all, hard coated ‘wild child’ writer, Brittany Carter ticks every box. Having it all is a different thing though, what with her need to thwart an ex fiancĂ©, and herself transported from the present to Georgian times. But then, so long as she can find her way back to her world of fame, and promised fortune, what's there to worry about?
Georgian bad boy Mitchell Killgower is at the center of an inheritance dispute and he needs Brittany as his obedient, country mouse wife. Or rather he needs her like a hole in the head. In and out of his bed he’s never known a woman like her. A woman who can disappear and reappear like her either.
And when his coolly contained anarchist, who is anything but, learns how to return to her world and stay there, will having it all be enough,  or does she underestimate him...and herself?

And...You can read chapter one and find out more here:  The Writer and the Rake - Time Mutants

That is awesome; thank you so much for the free chapter.  We will check that out right now.

And thank you so much for visiting us, Shehanne.  And all the way from the UK (Dundee, Scotland to be exact, for anyone that doesn't already know that). Oh...that reminds me...please forgive the fact that my spell check insisted on "American-izing" the spelling of several of your words - sheesh!

But this went by too fast.  I didn't even get to ask you how the hamsters are.  Keeping busy, I'm sure.

Well, that's OK, that leaves something to discuss next time.  And speaking of next time...let's not wait so long.

Come back sooooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!  Love you! XOXO

A Holiday (Unconditional) Love Letter... Just for you

If there were no words
No way to speak
I would still hear you
If there were no tears
No way to feel inside
I'd still feel for you

All of my life
I have been waiting for
All you give to me
You've opened my eyes
And shown me how to love unselfishly

Dear Wonderful, Absolutely-perfect-just-the-way-you-are, No-need-to-change-a-thing you,

Merry Christmas, Baby.

Let's have no regrets. No looking back.

You did what you thought was right - or the closest thing to "right" of the choices you felt you had.

That was then and this is now.

Enough of that...let's move on (by all means!) to (drum roll, please...) my Christmas gift to you!

It is my "Book of Positive Aspects" about you.

What is a "Book of Positive Aspects" you might ask?  It is simply this:

(Reprinted from InwardQuest.com)

The process is one of Abraham's and is in fact called "The Book of Positive Aspects". Abraham suggests using it to raise our vibration and focus on those positive aspects of people and things we feel good about. I have in fact used it successfully to raise my vibration when someone is irking me or I don't feel too good about them. By focusing on only their positive aspects, what was irking me about them seemed to literally disappear and they began showing up in my reality in a mostly positive way.
  1. Purchase a notebook and write on the cover My Book of Positive Aspects
  2. At the top of the first page write the name of the thing or person you want to focus on.
  3. Next, ask yourself these questions - What do I like about you? *Why do I love you so much?* What are your positive aspects? - If writing about someone that is irking you right now, the 2nd question may be hard to answer immediately; however, as you begin to focus on the positive in the person your vibration will begin to change and you will reach a place of love.
  4. Begin writing down the thoughts that come to you in response to the questions - do not force them. Write as long as the thoughts come easily and then read and enjoy your own words.
By focusing on the positive we begin raising our vibration to one of appreciation which is a powerful vibration. The more positive aspects we search for, the more we will find and our relationships with these people will change for the better. The more consistently we practice this, the more dominant the vibration will become and our reality will reflect this.
There are many benefits to this process - you'll feel good doing it, your point of attraction will improve, your relationships will improve and more great things and people will begin showing up in your life.

(Reprinted from WhatANiceWebsite.com)

When you are appreciating someone, and they are unable to uplift themselves to the level of your vibration, they vibrate right out of your experience. Most people you love will be uplifted by your appreciation to a new level of appreciation and connectedness for themselves.

OK, so here it is.  This is my ACTUAL book.  Not re-written or cleaned up at all.  That's why it's so messy and "dog eared"!  Of course, I had to cross out certain things that were just way too embarrassing and geeky and besides, I don't want you to get too big of a head!

I hope I don't regret this.  DO NOT get too full of yourself!!!

So once I got on a roll, there was SO much (added over quite some time - several months) that it has taken up two full pages so far.  And more things come to mind and the list gets longer every day.

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

You can do it!  That's what I just did...do you think this was easy???  Talk about "brave"...if I do say so myself.

BTW...If you're reading this, you ARE on the right track.

One more REALLY, REALLY, VERY IMPORTANT thing to remember:

You heard it here first.  Well, maybe second.

Hmmm...Where have I heard that before?

Merry Christmas With Love,
Your Mermaid

What exists between the sunset and the sunrise? A beautiful evening sky? Or a "Dark Night of the Soul"?

You decide.   We create our own reality.

The sun sets.

Metaphorically and literally.  The sun sets on one chapter of our lives.  Perhaps more than a chapter...perhaps the first half of our entire book of life.

An ending, yes.  Time to move on, yes.  But closure has a beauty of it's own.  This too, was agreed upon during the formation of our "soul contract".  It's the natural progression of our lives, long ago agreed upon by all concerned...by all of the members of our soul group.

We couldn't stop it if we tried.

The sun rises.

Metaphorically and literally.  The sun rises again!   The next chapter...perhaps the second half of our entire book of life.  Different than yesterday.  Different than anything that has ever come before.  Not better or worse, but different and beautiful in its own unique way.  With the sunrise we are reborn, renewed, reinvigorated.  Everything is new again, life begins again.  Passions ignite as never before and there is a whole new, exciting beginning!

We couldn't stop it if we tried.

The time in between.  A sort of "intermission" in the theater of life.

When the sun slips beneath the horizon, it does not immediately pop right back up like a bouncing ball!  So what of the space in between the sunset and the sunrise?  It's called "Evening" and again, it too is beautiful in its own way.

Literally speaking, when the sun sets, we know it will be followed by a sunrise.  We just know it will.  We have faith.  We don't have to DO anything to make it happen.  We don't fly into a panic because of the temporary lack of sun.  We don't run around trying to force the sun back up; looking for rope and equipment to try to lasso it and force it back up into the sky!  Just relax (isn't that what evening is for?) and all will happen on its own.  It's just "Evening" and it's perfectly normal - all is well!

Do we appreciate the lovely evening sky for what it has to offer?  An enchanting vista of twinkling stars, moonlight, cool, crisp air, tranquility, calm and rejuvenation.

Or is our perspective unnecessarily skewed to perceive something dark and scary?

It needn't be that way.  We create our own reality.  We write our own script.  That's "WE" as in you and I...yes, I'm talking about US!  Right here, right now...what do we want???  It is entirely up to us.

Life is short and time is precious.  There need not be any wasting of time and no period of being "in limbo"...ever!  That's not what this phase is for.  During these quiet, predawn hours, it is a time to reflect upon, honor and release what was with love and gratitude, to stand in this present moment in appreciation for what is, and to look forward with excited anticipation for what is about to be, as the dawn imminently prepares to break.

We are exactly where we are meant to be at any given moment - yes, even right now!  There are no accidents and no coincidences, so relax and ALLOW.

We can release feelings of guilt and obligation; for, as stated earlier:  It's the natural progression of our lives, long ago agreed upon by all members of our soul group.  We all agreed to our respective roles before we began this journey; on this adventure into the theater of life -
of your life.

Some of us signed up for Act I and some for Act II.

The point is:  How are we conducting our "intermission"?  Are we wasting all of our time standing in line for the restroom? (Ha!) Or are we passionately and lovingly interacting, socializing and stuffing our faces with candy? (Good answer!)  We can decide for ourselves what our intermission will look like.

HUGE QUESTION:  Why must it be "all or nothing"?  Sometimes enough is...well...perfectly enough for the present moment.  It may not be what we originally thought or planned for.  It may not even be what most people would traditionally think of as perfect...but why care what "most people" think?    And why involve them anyway?  Keep them, as the military says, on a "need to know basis".  Be smart about it.  You don't have to explain and if you do so choose, share only what your audience is ready to hear.  It really is the kindest thing to do.

What this time can be is perfect for us, for right now, and perfectly beautiful in its own way - a temporary "home away from home" that is soothing, comforting, healing and rejuvenating while preparing to receive the blessings and joys in store for us in the second act.

Sunsets and sunrises - we couldn't stop them if we tried.  The same goes for the evenings in between - we couldn't speed them up or slow them down, even if we wanted to.  And why would we want to?  Would it really bring "more" or just more of the same?  Quantity or quality?

If we are scrupulously honest, by the time each of these phases nears its completion, is it not really time and are we not really ready?  It is and we are!  It may not feel comfortable or familiar at first, but somewhere deep within our souls, we do know it is time.

So there is NO REASON to feel conflicted and EVERY REASON to feel certain and feel free - because you are!  Right now!  Be brave, be strong, be courageous, be vulnerable, be emotionally available, reach out, connect, release, allow, choose love and choose passion...because we all know "The show must go on!"...Let us make it scintillating and sensational!

"Brave" Lyrics

You can be amazing
You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug
You can be the outcast
Or be the backlash of somebody's lack of love
Or you can start speaking up

Nothing's gonna hurt you the way that words do
When they settle 'neath your skin
Kept on the inside and no sunlight
Sometimes a shadow wins
But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

Everybody's been there,
Everybody's been stared down by the enemy
Fallen for the fear
And done some disappearing,
Bow down to the mighty
Don't run, stop holding your tongue

Maybe there's a way out of the cage where you live
Maybe one of these days you can let the light in
Show me how big your brave is

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

And since your history of silence
Won't do you any good,
Did you think it would?
Let your words be anything but empty
Why don't you tell them the truth?

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave
With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
See you be brave

I just wanna see you (yeah)
I just wanna see you (oh ooh)
I just wanna see you

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you

Due to the popularity of the previous 4 part series on
the teachings of Abraham-Hicks

(thank you for this blog's second award:
The Versatile Blogger Award
and over 100,000 views for this series!!!)

We present:

Abraham's reinterpretation of the 12 Step program!

There has always seemed to me to be something fundamentally incorrect about the traditional 12-Step program.  I think it's that whole "I am powerless" thing mostly, but there are other things that don't ring true to me as well.  However, they have helped a lot of people and anything that works for even one person, I would not discourage.  But, to me, it's always seemed like it was in the right general direction, but not quite there.

I came across the 12 Step Program reinterpreted by Abraham and said, "That's it!"  It absolutely nailed everything that didn't resonate or "sit well" with me about the original 12 steps and then reinterpreted them.  At the same time, in no way discounting the fact that many people are helped by the original set of steps, we don't "throw them out", but rather add a second set of 12 to them.

Abraham explains that the reason the first 12 steps do work (at first!) is because it's a better feeling place than where an addict is coming to it from.  But after a while, as the steps begin to work, the person advances while the steps stay the same and when the individual advances beyond the steps, their recovery progresses to the point where they are more aligned with their higher self, who knows better than this.

In summary:  When the original 12 steps are a better feeling place than where the individual is coming from (in the beginning), they work.  As the recovery begins and progresses the 12 steps are a worse feeling place than where the individual is coming from and they no longer work.  That's why, often they work for a while and then don't anymore!

Below is a direct transcript taken from an Abraham-Hicks workshop.  The above is my synopsis...for those who are not as familiar with the way Abraham phrases things and may want a "lay-person's" version!

Abraham: …we are not at all pushing against, in any way, the 12-step program because for someone whose life is in a very unpleasant place, all of those steps are downstream.

In other words, when you feel totally out of control, maybe it does feel downstream for you to admit that you’re out of control.  And to say, "I hope that there’s something, some power that’s greater than me that will help me" when your life is in a mess that’s the last moment in time that you really want to crow about how in control you are. So, acknowledging that you are powerless is a downstream step.  You see what we are getting at?

What we’ve noticed about the program, and we’ve interacted with so many people who have been part of it, is that in the beginning it is all downstream for them. But after a little while, when they begin gaining their balance, to say those same things are upstream for them. So it never really gives them the autonomy and self-control that they are all reaching for.

Every single one of them felt not free when they began this process that evolved into the alcoholism.  In other words, you’re right, they turn to the alcohol or whatever it was because it seemed like a path of least resistance.  It felt better to them than where they were. And there is something that we would like somebody to say to them about the rightness of that decision.  But the whole program, and in fact almost everybody ever involved in it, stands and says something else to them. They stand and say, ‘you were wrong to do what you did, you were not wise in what you were doing, and you should never, ever do something again.’

It’s sort of like...when a person feels not free, and they innately and naturally turn toward anger, that anger that they turn toward is the most natural thing in the world, but almost everybody would stop and say, ‘your anger is wrong, your anger is misplaced.’

So when you’re interacting with people that are experiencing the hugeness of disconnection, it’s not an easy thing for you to teach them the principles from their place of strong disconnection. Something more overt and in-their-face is necessary and it is easier to teach someone about action than it is to teach them about vibration.  In an action oriented world, it’s easier to say to them, "this alcohol is your problem" than "your vibrational countenance is your problem."

First, let's take a look at the original 12 Steps:

And now:

We would introduce the 12 Step program as the first 12 steps, and we would tell them there are 12 more. And the first 12 steps are about the action part of distancing yourself from something that hasn’t been working. And then, once you’ve sort of got that under your belt, then we would begin the next 12 steps, which would be about understanding that you are the creator of your own reality.

~ The Next 12 Steps ~

1. While you’ve been saying in the first 12 Steps that there is a power that is greater than you, there has never been a power that is greater than you. You just somehow separated yourself from that greater power. But it never left you. It never was forsaking you. It was always aware of you, reaching for you, calling you toward it. You just could not hear. But it was always there.

2. The second of the next 12 Steps would be: You are the creator of your own experience, and you are doing the best that you knew how to do, every step along the way. You did the best from where you were that you could have done. And you can’t go back and undo all of that. So now you have admitted all of that wrong doing, and now you’ve made your peace with all of those people who you have wronged. This new second step says, I did the best that I could do then, and now I’m in a better place, and it will be easier this go-around.

3. The third thing in this new set of steps is: I am where I am. I am where I am, and where I am is all right, because it has to be, because it’s the only choice I have. If where I am is not all right, then it’s over for me. If where I am is not all right, then there’s nothing else for me to do, because I can’t get to where I want to be when I am condemning where I am. Not possible. You can’t possibly turn downstream in condemnation of where you are. So, I am where I am, and where I am not only is enough. It must be enough, because it’s all I’ve got.

4. The fourth step is: I am a worthy being, who is an extension of Source Energy, and I came forth with powerful intention, and got crossways of it. And when I got crossways of it, I went nuts, because who I am is such a lover, and such a knower of my own value. And when, somehow along my physical trail, I lost sight of that, I could not abide in my own vibration. The split in me was too severe, and that’s the reason I turned to something that was numbing. And while I will not turn to something that is numbing again, it is satisfying to know that when someone like me, who is pure positive energy, gets crossways of who I am, that it’s going to be
pain beyond pain that will require numbing, and I’ve never known anyone who would deny anyone some sort of a solution or solving of some kind of pain.

5. Step five says: I will make peace with those who did not understand how I felt. For how could they? Everyone has their own emotional scale. Nobody could know what was downstream for me. Nobody could know what was a solution for me. And they all stood in such certainty that they were right, when they couldn’t possibly know. And so this fifth step, in my second set of steps, is my true acknowledgment of my powerful desire to forgive them. The first [set of steps] demanded that I ask for their forgiveness. In this second [set of steps], I’m prepared to give them my forgiveness. I forgive them for not understanding me. I forgive them for trying to be my guidance when they could not. I forgive them for not paying attention to how they felt, so there was no way they could teach me how to pay attention to how I felt. I forgive them for not upholding the knowledge of the personal guidance system. I forgive them for everything that they did not understand about me. And it feels good in letting all of that go.

6. The sixth step is: I forgive all of them from this new point of view. I forgive them for not only not seeing me as I am, but for not seeing themselves as they are either. I allow them, which is more than forgiving. I allow them to be whoever they are, even if who they are being is critical of me. For I accept that they cannot see me accurately from their point of view, and I no longer need alcohol or drugs to numb the discord that I felt when I saw that I could not achieve their approval. I am giving up my need for your approval in this step. And in giving up my need for
your approval, I have set you free. But more important, I have set myself free.

7. The seventh step in this second set of 12 steps is: Now that I am more sure of who I am, and now that I’m beginning to return to the eagerness of life that is innate within me, it is my promise to myself that even if I were to do something that formerly I thought was a mistake, that I’m determined that I will offer no self-condemnation, ever again. This may be the most important step of all.

8. I acknowledge that the Source within me never gives up on me, and the only reason I ever feel bad is because I do. So in this step, I am pronouncing to the world that I am absolving myself of all guilt relative to action. And if I should – and it could happen – ever take a drink again, it is my promise to myself: I’m not going back through those first twelve steps. Because I am where I am, and because Source continues to adore me, and because there’s always downstream from wherever I am, and I don’t have to start over every time again. I know too much. I’ve come too far.

9. The next step in the second set of 12 steps is sincere appreciation for the first 12 Steps, because they were there for me when I most needed them. I could not even begin to see this second set from where I was, and there they were, tangible and real, and they helped me. They don’t now, but they did then. They were bridges that were valuable, and I will feel eternal appreciation for their existence.

10. I am appreciating everything that ever gave me grief, because from it was born clarity of desire. I’m not sorry for one thing that I ever lived through. I’m not even sorry for what I put you through, because in my dealing with the contrast of the life that I created, I’ve launched rockets of desire, and I can feel a brighter future that would not be there if it had not been for that.

11. The 11th step is: I encourage no one to go through what I went through in order to get where I am. I acknowledge it could have been easier for me. If I had been willing to pay attention to the way I feel, if I’d listened to my own guidance, if I’d been able to turn downstream earlier on, without being pinned into that corner of feeling not free, I could have turned into my alignment and my allowing without the help or the aid of the drugs.

12. The last and final step is: I adore knowing that I am the creator of my own reality. And I take full credit – not responsibility – I take full credit for the amazing life that I am in the process of creating. I aspire to see myself through the eyes of Source. And I think all 24 steps are part of me being able to now do that.

And now, I would like to announce to the world: I am healed, I am whole, I am free, I am love.

And it might be only temporary, but if I ever slip from it, I know exactly what to do.
