You decide. We create our own reality.
The sun sets.Metaphorically and literally. The sun sets on one chapter of our lives. Perhaps more than a chapter...perhaps the first half of our entire book of life.
An ending, yes. Time to move on, yes. But closure has a beauty of it's own. This too, was agreed upon during the formation of our "soul contract". It's the natural progression of our lives, long ago agreed upon by all concerned...by all of the members of our soul group.
We couldn't stop it if we tried.
The sun rises.Metaphorically and literally. The sun rises again! The next chapter...perhaps the second half of our entire book of life. Different than yesterday. Different than anything that has ever come before. Not better or worse, but different and beautiful in its own unique way. With the sunrise we are reborn, renewed, reinvigorated. Everything is new again, life begins again. Passions ignite as never before and there is a whole new, exciting beginning!
We couldn't stop it if we tried.
The time in between. A sort of "intermission" in the theater of life. When the sun slips beneath the horizon, it does not immediately pop right back up like a bouncing ball! So what of the space in between the sunset and the sunrise? It's called "Evening" and again, it too is beautiful in its own way.
Literally speaking, when the sun sets, we know it will be followed by a sunrise. We just know it will. We have faith. We don't have to DO anything to make it happen. We don't fly into a panic because of the temporary lack of sun. We don't run around trying to force the sun back up; looking for rope and equipment to try to lasso it and force it back up into the sky! Just relax (isn't that what evening is for?) and all will happen on its own. It's just "Evening" and it's perfectly normal - all is well!
Do we appreciate the lovely evening sky for what it has to offer? An enchanting vista of twinkling stars, moonlight, cool, crisp air, tranquility, calm and rejuvenation.
Or is our perspective unnecessarily skewed to perceive something dark and scary?
It needn't be that way. We create our own reality. We write our own script. That's "WE" as in you and I...yes, I'm talking about US! Right here, right now...what do we want??? It is entirely up to us.
We are exactly where we are meant to be at any given moment - yes, even right now! There are no accidents and no coincidences, so relax and ALLOW.
We can release feelings of guilt and obligation; for, as stated earlier: It's the natural progression of our lives, long ago agreed upon by all members of our soul group. We all agreed to our respective roles before we began this journey; on this adventure into the theater of life -
of your life.
Some of us signed up for Act I and some for Act II.
The point is: How are we conducting our "intermission"? Are we wasting all of our time standing in line for the restroom? (Ha!) Or are we passionately and lovingly interacting, socializing and stuffing our faces with candy? (Good answer!) We can decide for ourselves what our intermission will look like.
HUGE QUESTION: Why must it be "all or nothing"? Sometimes enough is...well...perfectly enough for the present moment. It may not be what we originally thought or planned for. It may not even be what most people would traditionally think of as perfect...but why care what "most people" think? And why involve them anyway? Keep them, as the military says, on a "need to know basis". Be smart about it. You don't have to explain and if you do so choose, share only what your audience is ready to hear. It really is the kindest thing to do.
What this time can be is perfect for us, for right now, and perfectly beautiful in its own way - a temporary "home away from home" that is soothing, comforting, healing and rejuvenating while preparing to receive the blessings and joys in store for us in the second act.
Sunsets and sunrises - we couldn't stop them if we tried. The same goes for the evenings in between - we couldn't speed them up or slow them down, even if we wanted to. And why would we want to? Would it really bring "more" or just more of the same? Quantity or quality?
If we are scrupulously honest, by the time each of these phases nears its completion, is it not really time and are we not really ready? It is and we are! It may not feel comfortable or familiar at first, but somewhere deep within our souls, we do know it is time.
